Hiya KT,
Welcome to planDisney! I have a special place in my heart for
Chef Mickey’s; it was the first place I could dine with my then five-month-old and eat an entire meal without interruption. She was so mesmerized by Mickey and his pals that she didn’t cry once the whole meal! If that isn’t Disney magic, I don’t know what is!
Thank you for bringing this question to planDisney! This has been the topic of conversation on social media lately, so I’m excited to get a chance to help you with it. When you dine at Chef Mickey’s, you can park your vehicle at
Disney’s Contemporary Resort for up to three hours during your dining reservation. This ensures that Guests who are staying at the resort can have
parking for their vehicles. Unfortunately, that means you would not be able to leave your vehicle at Disney’s Contemporary Resort after you have finished dining while you are at
Magic Kingdom Park. To save you from moving your vehicle from the resort parking lot to the Magic Kingdom Park lot, I recommend starting your day by parking at the Magic Kingdom Parking lot. Once parked, you can head to the Resort Monorail from the Transportation and Ticket Center for breakfast. Then, you can walk (or monorail) over to Magic Kingdom Park after breakfast to enjoy the rest of your day!
I hope this was helpful, KT! Before I let you go, if you are staying at one of the other Walt Disney World Resort Collection Hotels, I cannot recommend enough the
Minnie Van Service. I love that you can avoid parking altogether and have the Minnie Van drop you off at Disney’s Contemporary Resort for breakfast. Then, when you are done for the day, have the Minnie Van take you back to your resort hotel. It is not a complementary service, but it is worth it to me when you add up the cost to park at the Transportation and Ticket Center and the time to travel via the monorail. Also, if you have small Mouseketeers who need a car seat, the Minnie Van comes equipped with two car seats! Please come back and see us if you need anything else.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
