Do you have to make a reservation for character dining using the dining plan? or can you walk-in?

    Hi Jeanine.

Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel with your question.

I'd very highly recommend that you make Advance Dining Reservations for any Character Dining that you hope to enjoy during your Walt Disney World vacation. You'll use your Disney Dining Plan to 'pay' for the reservation upon arrival, however will still require the reservation to be made in advance.

Reservations may be made up to 180 days in advance and the Character Dining experiences are amongst the most popular restaurants to dine at. On occasion, walk-ins are available at Table Service Dining locations during quieter times of year or based upon cancellations and no-shows.

To make your reservations, visit Disney Dining Online or call (407) WDW-DINE and a Cast Member will be pleased to assist you. If the reservation you seek requires pre-payment, a Cast Member will assist you in properly connecting your Dining Plan to the reservation.

Should you wish to have some recommendations for your Character Dining experiences, please write me back and I'd be thrilled to assist you further! Just let me know a little about the ages of children in your travel party, what character(s) you're hoping to dine with and which parks you plan to visit!

Wishing you a simply Magical time as you plan for your family's upcoming Walt Disney World vacation Jeanine!
