We have a reservation for the carriage at ft wilderness on a Saturday at 9:30 pm. I was wondering about transport to and from… we will depart Epcot around 5/6 pm to explore early and after the carriage need to get back to wilderness lodge. Quickest routes?

Hey howdy hey, Nancy! Welcome to planDisney! I see you want to be a Wilderness Explorer, so let’s find you the quickest routes to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort!

First, let’s talk about your journey to the campground. From EPCOT, you have a few options to get there. You could take a bus directly to Fort Wilderness, but that will drop you off at the Outpost Depot, which is not where the carriage rides begin. You would then need to take the internal buses at the campground to the Settlement Depot to find the carriages. An alternative route would be to go from EPCOT to Magic Kingdom, and then take a boat to Fort Wilderness. The boats will drop you off right next to the Settlement Depot. There are two ways to get to Magic Kingdom from EPCOT. You could exit the front of the park in Future World, and take the Monorail. This would require you to transfer monorails at the Transportation and Ticket Center. You could also exit EPCOT through the International Gateway in the World Showcase and take a bus from Disney’s Beach Club Resort nearby for a more direct route to Magic Kingdom.

After your carriage ride, the good news is that the trip back to your resort hotel will be much faster! Boat transportation is available directly from the Settlement Depot at Fort Wilderness to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. I personally love taking the boats any chance I can get!

While you’re at Fort Wilderness, have you looked into reservations at Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue? It is one of my all-time favorite dining experiences at Walt Disney World! It combines great food with two hours of entertainment. There’s singing, dancing, comedy, and all-you-care-to-eat of delicious food that any cowboy would approve of! Or check out Crockett’s Tavern for drinks and lounge fare in a family-friendly environment before your carriage ride!

Nancy, I hope you have a wonderful time exploring the great outdoors at Fort Wilderness. We promise that Sheriff Woody has checked, and no one has poisoned the waterhole! If you have any more questions, be sure to stop back by planDisney. We are always here to help add a little extra pixie dust to your Disney vacation planning!
