Hello there, Doreen!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park is such a wonderous place in that it celebrates the magic of nature. I personally haven’t done the
Caring for Giants experience, but I got to see the park’s largest inhabitants from afar during my recent
Kilimanjaro Safari tour, and now the experience is at the top of my “must-do” list. I’m not sure if anyone in your party is a budding veterinarian, but I imagine your group will be absolutely inspired after you learn about the day-to-day care of these animals. I know
EPCOT’s The Seas with Nemo & Friends inspired me to become a marine biologist.
To answer your specific question, I checked in with a Cast Member, and they confirmed that you will absolutely be able to enter the theme park early to make it to your Caring for Giants reservation, as long as everyone in your party has theme park ticket, theme park reservations, a Caring for Giants reservation, and a mode of entry into the theme park (e.g., physical theme park ticket from a ticket window, Disney band, or Disney MagicMobile service). Since you’ll need to check in 15 minutes prior to the start of the experience at the Curiosity Animal Tours kiosk across from the Kilimanjaro Safaris attraction entrance, I recommend showing up at the theme park entrance 45 minutes prior to your Caring for Giants reservation and letting a Cast Member know that you have a Caring for Giants reservation for 9:00 a.m.
The Cast Members will point you in the right direction to get to the Curiosity Animal Tours kiosk. It may take you about 10 minutes to walk to the kiosk from the entrance. The 45 minutes will also account for the time it may take you to get through the entrance if there is a line.
Did you know that Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park just celebrated
25 years on Earth Day? Besides learning about the amazing animals, I’m sure you’ll hear all about the incredible work that the Disney Conservation Fund is doing to inspire change and protection around the world.
May the magic be with you!Melanie
