We have a reservation at Caribbean Beach, bought our park tickets and have park reservations for each day. We are thinking about cancelling the Caribbean Beach and booking a DVC room through a third party. Would we lose our park reservations?

Hi there Mary! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Thanks for bringing your vacation planning question to us. We're always happy to help.

It looks like your Disney adventure is fast approaching. Let the countdown to magic begin! As you make final preparations, be sure to familiarize yourself with all of the latest updates on the Know Before You Go pages.

During this exciting reopening period, the Disney Park Pass System is a fantastic way for Disney to ensure safe capacity in the theme parks. Similar to the FastPass+ system, the Disney Park Pass System is linked to your theme park admission. If your theme park tickets were purchased separately from a room-only Resort Hotel booking, then you can cancel or modify your resort reservation without impacting your park tickets. If you booked a vacation package that bundled your resort room and tickets, then your theme park tickets and Disney Park Pass would be forfeited along with the cancellation of your vacation package.

Should you choose to start over with your August vacation plans, (and Hakuna Matata if you do - it looks like there is still Disney Park Pass availability throughout August), know that most third-party sites that offer Disney Vacation Club points have non-refundable cancellation policies. If you are looking to stay in a Deluxe Villa, but prefer the flexibility and confidence that booking directly with Walt Disney World provides, you can also book some Disney Vacation Club villas directly through Disney, either online or by calling (407) 939-5277. I do have to warn you that once you experience a home-away-from-home Disney vacation, it's hard to stay anywhere else! My family and I became Disney Vacation Club members after our first stay at Disney's Old Key West Resort. We instantly fell in love with the laid back atmosphere and generously sized accommodations this resort offers. Since that first stay we've used our membership to enjoy many Disney Vacation Club resorts, and we are looking forward to our first stay at Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge Resort later this summer.

Mary, no matter where you decide to rest your head during your August adventure, I know you will have a fantastic time! Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is looking especially fabulous these days, and access to the Disney Skyliner makes it an extra convenient location for visits to EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios. Thanks again for stopping by to talk Disney planning with us, and if there is anything else we can do to make this or a future vacation more magical, come back and visit us again.

Have a great, big, beautiful tomorrow!
