Hi Shelley! Welcome to planDisney! Happy Fourth of July! It sounds like you’ve chosen a great place to celebrate America’s birthday!
The Fourth of July is a popular day at the Disney Parks. The parks do, occasionally, reach capacity and Independence Day is one of those days in the past when the parks have reached capacity. The park that has reached capacity the most in previous years on Independence Day is
Magic Kingdom Park.
To avoid missing out on the fireworks show, or being denied admittance to the park, I recommend arriving at the park very early in the day, and plan on spending your whole day and night in the park. Once you are in the park you can stay. However, if you try to enter later in the day or leave the park and try to reenter, you could possibly be denied entry if the park reaches capacity (even with a Disney Park Pass reservation).
Shelley, to break up your day in the park, I recommend planning a sit-down lunch and/or dinner at either a quick-service or table-service dining location. This is a nice way to get off your feet, hydrate, and cool off in air-conditioned restaurants. I also recommend taking in some of the entertainment or attractions that allow you to sit for a while. One of my favorites at Magic Kingdom Park is
Mickey’s PhilharMagic! This fun show takes place in an air-conditioned theater. The show lasts about 15 minutes. It’s relaxing, cool, and great Disney entertainment! The wait for this attraction isn’t typically too long either.
Have a happy Fourth of July at the Walt Disney World Resort!
Dreams do come true!
