I would like to make a reservation for a campsite at the Fort Wilderness Resort but there is no availability for the dates my family is able to visit. Is there a way that I can get a notification if a site becomes available?

Hi Jaclyn - welcome to planDisney!

Thanks so much for stopping by with your first question - our team of panelists is always here to help you plan!

The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort are a popular way to enjoy all the magic of Walt Disney World Resort while having a unique camping experience with Mickey and friends. I know that this Resort is especially popular during the holiday season, and noticed that your desired arrival date is Christmas. There is not currently a wait-list or way to receive a notification if a campsite becomes available, so my best advice is to check as often as you can.

The good news is that other Guests' plans change all the time, and when they do, that opens up availability for others like yourself. Also, keep in mind that the cancelation window for room (i.e., campsite) only reservations is five days prior, and is 30 days prior for vacation packages, so you might be more likely to see additional availability open up around those times.

I'm sure that your crew wants to spend the holiday at Walt Disney World Resort regardless, so I recommend that you make alternative plans now just in case you aren't able to secure a campsite. There's no arguing about the value of a campsite, and if you're looking for similarly priced accommodations, I suggest checking out some of the Disney Resorts Collection Value Resorts. One of my favorites is Disney's Pop Century Resort. The rooms were recently updated with modern amenities, and you also get the convenience of Disney Skyliner transportation to Disney's Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and more!

I hope this helps your planning - please let me know if any other questions come up that I can help with!
