I have a reservation at California grill for 9pm on March 7, 2024. Will fireworks be visible at that time?

    Welcome to planDisney, Courtney!

Watching Disney Parks’ fireworks displays is one of my all-time favorite pastimes, and taking them in from atop the 15th floor of California Grill is simply the best. How exciting is it that you’ll experience this in just a few weeks!

I just checked the Happily Ever After calendar, and on March 7, 2024, the Magic Kingdom Park fireworks begin at 8 p.m. Your current 9 p.m. advance dining reservation is indeed after the show. However, feel free to arrive earlier and show your reservation or receipt to one of the friendly Cast Members at the California Grill check-in desk. They should allow you to visit the observation deck even if it’s before your reservation begins.

Another option is to do what my husband and I did last year for my birthday celebration, which is to check the My Disney Experience App like crazy before the 2-hour cancellation/modification window starts. I was able to move our 9:30 p.m. dining reservation to a time closer to the 8 p.m. fireworks. Modifying a dining reservation within a day or two (or day of, in this case) really does come in handy when timing those magical moments.

AN EXTRA GEM: What’s super cool about the fireworks viewing area at the California Grill is that the show’s music is piped in through the speakers at the restaurant. So, you’ll feel like you’re right there in the theme park without being in the crowd of Guests at the front of Cinderella Castle.

Courtney, please let us know if you have any other questions about your upcoming vacation to The Most Magical Place on Earth. I’m all ears!

    Magic always,
