Hi Amber,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thanks for your question! That
cake decorating experience with a Disney pastry artist at Amorette’s Patisserie is on my Disney bucket list, and I know you are going to love it!
I like to give myself one hour door-to-door with Disney bus transportation, so an 8:30 a.m. departure might be too close for comfort. Because bus transportation is often shared between
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort-French Quarter and Disney’s Port Orleans Resort-Riverside, you may find that your bus needs to make its way around the Riverside loop before departing for Disney Springs. This can add 15 minutes or more to your trip.
My recommendation is that you check with the friendly guest services team at the concierge desk at your resort. They will have the most up-to-date transportation schedules, and might have some additional suggestions, such as calling for a taxi if they think it’s your best bet to get to your destination. My favorite Disney World tip is to always check in with your on-site Cast Members, as they have so much magical knowledge to share with you!
Amber, a lovely option for the ride back from Disney Springs is the
ferryboat service from Disney Springs to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort. I love the relaxing ride down the Sassagoula River! The ferry hours of operation vary, so be sure to check with a Cast Member, but in my experience it usually starts running at 10:00 a.m. and departs Disney Springs approximately every 25 minutes.
Have a delicious time at your cake decorating lesson, and a magical vacation!
