I have a reservation for building a light saber at 9:05PM and the park closes at 9PM and the Disney resort I am staying at is not deluxe, do you think they will still let me in to my reservation? Also I was wondering how the late hours work?

Hiya Tyler - welcome to planDisney!

We're so glad you decided to stop by and ask your question to our team of panelists! We love answering questions from Guests just like you to help you plan a magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation. It's an especially great time to visit - the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration has brought new attractions, entertainment, food, and so much more. You're going to love it!

Kudos on snatching a reservation for Savi's Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers located at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in Disney's Hollywood Studios. This is an unforgettable experience as you piece together your very own lightsaber using the eclectic mix of pieces and parts that The Gatherers have stocked the workshop with from across the galaxy!

What you've actually stumbled upon is somewhat of an open secret at the Theme Parks - many experiences and dining locations have reservation availability for an hour or so after the normal closing time! So don't fret about being able to utilize your reservation - you will be welcomed into the workshop without incident.

Once you've completed your build, you'll need to exit Disney's Hollywood Studios. Since the park will be closed, you'll want to proceed to the exit and be sure to follow any Cast Member instructions along the way. It's always fun to be in a park when you're one of the only Guests, and while you might stop to snap a couple of photos, be sure not to linger. Also, keep in mind that dining locations will be closed, so make sure to grab dinner or a snack before your reservation at the workshop.

If the evening you'll be building your lightsaber has Extended Evening Theme Park Hours scheduled for Hollywood Studios, you'll notice that select attractions, experiences, and dining locations will be open past the park's normal closing time, exclusively for registered Guests of Disney Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts (and other select hotels). If you're not a Guest of one of these Resorts, you'll be asked to exit the park after your experience.

Feel free to speak with a Cast Member in the park if you have any questions about what to do (or what you can do) after you build your lightsaber. At the end of the day, they are the ones closing up the parks, and they are in charge!

I hope this information is helpful as you get ready for your trip. Please let us know if any other questions pop up as your trip approaches!
