We have a reservation booked at the campsites. There is a possibility we will have offsite lodging. Is it a problem to keep the campsite reservation (and pay for the three nights) even if we end up not physically staying at the property?

Hello, Jill, and welcome to planDisney! Choosing where to stay for your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is one of the most important decisions a guest can make when planning their visit. I am happy to help you figure out what can happen if you've booked a campsite but choose not to check in or stay at the property.

I did some digging through the terms and conditions, and guests may cancel their room-only reservation at least 8 days in advance without penalty. Once your trip is closer and your lodging plans are more firm, I hope you will be able to choose to either keep your already booked stay at The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort or cancel early enough to reclaim your deposit and put some of your hard earned dollars back in your pocket.

Fort Wilderness has some amazing activities and dining, and I just know you'll enjoy your stay there. Roast marshmallows with some beloved Disney pals at Chip 'N' Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long, or take in dinner and a show at Pioneer Hall as you enjoy the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. You can also learn about the horses at Disney World at Tri-Circle-D Ranch or rent bikes, kayaks, or fishing gear for a true outdoorsy experience.

I hope you have a fantastic trip to Disney World, Jill! Come visit me here at planDisney if you have any questions or are looking for more vacation planning tips.

    Stay magical,
    Scott
