If I make a reservation now for August 2027 and a better offer comes out in January, can it be applied to my booking and can the extra money I paid be refunded if it’s a discount? Or can the new offer be added, for example free dining?

    Hiya Natalia,

Welcome to planDisney! I cannot believe we are almost done with 2026 and in the midst of spooky season at Walt Disney World Resort! The first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party of this year is this weekend, and this year has really flown by. Before you know it, you will be packing to make your way to the Most Magical Place on Earth!

With that said, Natalia, I’ve been known to say that it is never too early to begin planning a vacation, so I’m happy you came to visit us today. As someone who also loves to make sure that she is getting the best deal possible for her vacation, I’m happy to share that depending on the type of reservation you make (and the terms and conditions for your reservation), you may be able to modify your reservation to take advantage of a special deal or discount announced after you booked. This depends, of course, entirely on the availability of the deals as well. For example, let’s say you book a 4-night stay at Coronado Springs Resort for August; the deal may only be available for select nights at Coronado Springs that no longer align with what you had booked. I’ve definitely done this before, and if there were a difference in price between what I had reserved, then I would either be credited the amount or be asked to pay the difference (if applicable). All of this to say you can definitely go ahead and book now and then call a Cast Member over the phone to make modifications to your reservation, or you could wait until the deals go live in the Winter.

I hope this was helpful, Natalia. As I mentioned, there is always a chance that the deal does not apply to your resort hotel choice or dates. So I have one more piece of advice for you: if you are flexible with your dates and resort hotel, then modifying after making a reservation is a great strategy. If you aren’t able to be that flexible, then I recommend waiting until the deals are announced to be safe.  If you need anything else, please come back and see us. We are always here to help!

    Happy Planning,
