Hi there, Virginia! I'm so glad you've stopped by planDisney with your question. I absolutely love staying at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, it's one of my favorites!
I think that you will be happy to know that in your room at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, you will find a mini-refrigerator to use while you're there. It's nice to be able to have some bottled waters and sodas in the room and to be kept cold throughout your vacation. It can save quite a bit of money as well! We always pack several goodies to keep in there to enjoy during our vacation.
While check-in time is typically around 3:00 p.m. you are able to enjoy all of the amenities the resort has to offer before that time whenever you arrive. For your luggage, Bell Services will be more than happy to store it for you until your room is ready. If you have anything that needs to be kept cold, they can do that for you there as well. When you arrive at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, simply make your way to the Bell Services counter. The Cast Member helping you will count the number of bags you'd like them to store and then give you a receipt to hold on to until you pick your things up later. Then, you are free to go about your day however you please. When you return to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, just head up to your room. When you're there, grab the phone and call down to the Bell Services counter. They will be more than happy to bring your belongings straight up to your room for you. This service is completely free to you, however, I do like to tip the Cast Members for their hard work. I'm an over-packer and sometimes have way too many bags. Of course, this is completely optional but just something to consider.
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is getting a big makeover and is set to open up later this year. That means for your trip next year, you will be staying in a completely refurbished room which is really cool. I'm so excited to see how the new Moana theme turns out. The concept art and a few pictures I've seen here and there are fabulous.
Virginia, I hope this helps! If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to come back and
ask me. Have fun!
