Hello Jim,
Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
I hope you get to enjoy every moment of your Walt Disney World Resort vacation as planned so you can experience all the magic that awaits you. It's a good idea, though, to know your options in the event you need to consider changing your plans.
The cancellation policy for your Walt Disney World Resort booking would be based on the Terms and Conditions that apply, and would vary depending on the type of reservation.
With current Terms and Conditions, a room-only reservation would need to be cancelled 5 days before arrival in order a full refund to be received. If your reservation can be cancelled online, you can use your
"My Plans" features in your My Disney Experience account to cancel the reservation. If your reservation doesn't have the option to cancel online, you can cancel your reservation by calling the Walt Disney World Resort at (407)-934-7639.
For vacation packages that include a Resort stay and theme park tickets, the current cancellation and refund policies vary
depending on the timing of the cancellation. If a vacation package is cancelled 30 days or more before arrival, the amount paid would be refunded, and any third-party fees or non-refundable costs such as the cost of a Travel Protection Plan would be taken out of the refund. If a vacation package is cancelled 29 days to 2 days before arrival, there would be a $200 cancellation fee, and any third-party fees or non-refundable costs would be taken out of the refund. If a vacation package is cancelled 1 day or less before arrival, or in the event of a no-show, the vacation package is non-refundable.
Jim, I hope this information is helpful as you make your vacation plans. If you would like more assistance with the details of your booking, you can reach out to the Walt Disney World Resort at (407)-934-7639, or connect with Resort Cast Members using the
online chat service.
