Hakuna Matata and Welcome to planDisney, Sarah! Thanks so much for asking this question. I'm happy to help!
I stayed at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge for the first time this past December. What an amazing resort! You're in for an adventure and I'm so excited for you and your family! Because you have some time before your arrival, I would recommend frequently checking the
Walt Disney World website for any potential resort room availability. The easiest way to check is to look at your plans under your
My Disney Experience account. From there, you can select one of your room reservations and then select "modify." If there is a different room type available, you can select that room type and modify the reservation. You might want to try this with both of your room types as the dates might impact the availability. If by chance you are unable to modify one of your reservations to have the same room type for your stay, I would recommend checking with the front desk about your request at your time of check-in. In my experience, Cast Members will always try to make your stay as magical as possible.
I have a couple of tips for you because I have stayed at this beautiful resort. Be sure to plan some time to enjoy the
features of this resort! The
Uzima Springs Pool is very inviting and refreshing and a great way to relax after spending time at the theme parks. I was also truly amazed that I could come down to the lobby from my resort room and see animals right outside!
I would also suggest downloading the
My Disney Experience app to your mobile device before you arrive. I really love being able to easily view the dining options and bus times when I stay at a Disney Resorts Hotel. It's so convenient to have this info right at your fingertips!
