I have a reservation at Animal Kingdom and have a question: is there a continual transportation (bus or train) available to get between parks? How long would it average to Disney world from kingdom?

Hi Stacy! Welcome to planDisney! It's great to have you stop by with your question!

Oh boy! A summer getaway to the Walt Disney World Resort is fast approaching! I hope you are excited about your upcoming stay! There is nothing quite like daydreaming about all the fun experiences that await!

One of my favorite things about Walt Disney World is the variety of transportation options that are available during your stay. Depending on which theme park or resort you are at, you may be able to travel by boat, monorail, bus, or even through the air on the Disney Skyliner. Part of the fun at times is just getting from one destination to the other. There was one time my family decided to take a bus to Disney's Hollywood Studios just so we could hop on the Disney Skyliner to take to the International Gateway entrance in EPCOT. It added to the travel time but we had blast trying this out.

Depending on which parks you are traveling between, there will be a mode of transportation that will get you there. Specifically, if you are traveling between Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park and the Magic Kingdom Park, you will need to take a bus from one park to the other. Bus transportation will be found outside of the main gate at each park. Once you are on the bus, it should take about 15-20 minutes to get to your destination. I would factor in the additional time that you may wait for a bus to arrive to pick you up. Other parks may require a different way to get there. For example, traveling between EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, you have the option to take a boat, the Disney Skyliner, or even walk on a designated walking path.

One thing to keep in mind is that you will need valid park hopper tickets to start your day in one park and switch to another one. You'll need to make a park reservation before your arrival for the first park you plan to visit on that day. Then, starting at 2 PM, you can park hop to any of the other three theme parks. Some Guests have been known to travel to all four theme parks in one day. If you plan it correctly, this could be a fun challenge to take on!

Stacy, I hope you have a magical time during your upcoming stay! I'm sure you will navigate around the Resort with quite ease!

    See ya real soon!
