Have a reservation at Animal Kingdom Lodge in August. Has anyone stayed there in the heat of the summer before? Have begin to wonder if there will be animals to view or if they will be taking refuge somewhere cooler. Wondering if I should change.

Hi Cindy! My family and I have stayed at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge at the end of July/ first of August for our first trip "home" using of Disney Vacation Club membership. We had a 2 bedroom Savanna view Villa and our view of the animals was wonderful. It was nice to wake up and watch the animals in the morning before we left the Resort. We used the Night Vision Goggles to view the animals in the cool of the late evening/night. On our designated Resort Days, we watched animal in the mornings and evenings and enjoyed the Pool and Resort activities during the day. The heat of the summer did not have a negative impact on our vacation at all. I am very biased toward Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge because it is one of our "homes" away from home, so you should not be surprised when I tell you that I would not change my reservation - no way, no how!  LOL!
