Welcome to planDisney, Susan! Thanks so much for coming to us with your question today. You've asked a great question about Park Hopping, and I'm happy to chat with you about the finer points of exactly how it all works.
If you have a
Disney Park Pass reservation for
Disney's Animal Kingdom, you will not be able to go to
Magic Kingdom Park at 2:00 PM without first using your ticket at Disney's Animal Kingdom, or canceling your reservation and making a new one for Magic Kingdom Park. Since it sounds like Magic Kingdom Park may no longer have reservations left for the day you're asking about, your option in this case would be to either keep your Disney's Animal Kingdom reservation and first check in there before Park Hopping, or you can change your reservation to a different Theme Park if you would rather do that.
If Magic Kingdom Park is out of Disney Park Pass reservations for the day you're planning to visit, it will remain open for Park Hopping at 2:00 PM. It is very rare for a Theme Park to close to Park Hoppers, and I can think of only one or two times it has ever happened in the history of the reservation system. If Magic Kingdom Park does reach capacity, which I don't think you will have to worry about on your visit this weekend, an alert will be sent out in the
My Disney Experience app so you can adjust your plans. Again, this is very rare, so don't worry about having to plan for this when you're making your itinerary for your visit.
I hope this answers your question, Susan, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
