Hi Terri!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I love so much that you've been resEARching your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Don't forget to add to your reading list the
Disney Parks Blog so you can keep up with all of the newest and the now.
Terri I have good news, and I have great news. My friend and panel mate
Anne Marie happens to be enjoying her own vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth this week and kept an eye out for the both of us. Thanks to her reporting (I like to envision her holding a churro in place of a microphone) we can confirm that both
Aloha Isle and
Cheshire Cafe are indeed
Disney Dining Plan snack entitlement participating locations. In fact, looking at the pictures she took, all listed items on both menus except for one are eligible snacks, with the one exception being the Dole Whip served in a souvenEAR Tiki Bowl.
I'm so sorry that you thought you might have to forego these classic Disney treats this trip. My theory is that the kiosks and Quick-Service locations that don't sell actual entrees or meal items have the non-participating disclaimer so guests will know that they can't use a full meal entitlement at that location, which does make it confusing for snack time. However, I do have a tip on double checking if specific locations or items qualify as snacks: in your
My Disney Experience Mobile App, go through the initial steps of placing a
Mobile Food & Beverage Order; don't worry, you don't actually have to add anything to your cart or complete the check-out process. When you get the menu of these
Mobile Order Quick-Service locations in your app, each item that qualifies as a Dining Plan Snack will say so under the item description. *Do note that the one caveat to this trick is that you have to check during each park's normal operating hours.
Now, for the great news - Did you know that you can find the iconic Dole Whip at a handful of other
Disney Dining Locations all across Walt Disney World Resort, and usually with the option to make them pirate style? (That's with a floater of rum.) Be sure to add the following to your snack list:
~ Marketplace Snacks in Disney Springs
~ Tamu Tamu Refreshments in Disney's Animal Kingdom Park
~ Over in Epcot check with the Refreshment Port, unless you're visiting during a festival season, then look for a specific Pineapple food festival kitchen
~ And in addition to the Pineapple Lanai at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, you can even imbibe in my personal favorite, the Spikey Pineapple, at both Tiki Terrace and Trader Sam's Grog Grotto. (The difference here is that the rum and whip have been blended together.)
I hope this info made your day, Terri, and We'll See You Real Soon!
~Kristen
