    Hello! After much research, I booked me and my family to stay at the Animal Kingdom Resort, and paid extra for the savanna view. We are going in Feb 2012. Spending alot, did I make right choice? Kiids are 4 and 5. Want my kids to have the best time.

    Hi Kerrilee! Absolutely! You made a terrific choice for your family! Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge (AKL)is one of my family's favorite resorts in all of Walt Disney World. This is one of the best themed Disney Deluxe Resorts offering the amenities one would expect at this level. Set in a wildlife preserve adjacent to Disney's Animal Kingdom, AKL captures the essence of an African savanna lodge. The resort exhibits authentic African inspired architecture and features over 30 species of wildlife that roam the resort's four savannas. You will see zebras, giraffes, exotic birds, antelopes, elks, kudus, gazelles, impalas, Ankole Cattle, and wildebeests from your balcony! This resort offers a wide range of recreational activities for visiting guests of all ages. For example, Animal Program activities will allow you to experience up close encounters with exotic animals. You will also be able to enjoy Night Vision viewing of animals featuring special night vision goggles. This particular activity takes place nightly, weather permitting, from 9 to 11 p.m. Cast Members lead guests from behind the Jambo House Pool to the savannah to view the animals. Looking through night vision goggles is just like you see in the movies, where everything looks green! Be sure to check with lobby Cast Members for a complete list of all the programs being offered during your stay. AKL is also home to some of my family's favorite restaurants on Disney property.
