Hello Emily!
Welcome to planDisney! I’m sorry you are having a struggle planning your vacation, let’s see if I can give you some ideas that might help.
You mention you cannot “get into any of the rides or shows.” At first, I thought perhaps you were worried that since FastPass+ has been retired and you cannot schedule a time in advance to experience those attractions, that meant you wouldn’t be able to experience any attractions. Please be assured that there are still stand-by lanes for almost every attraction at the
Walt Disney World Resort. So there is no need to schedule rides and attractions this far in advance. You can simply show up on the day of your park reservation and head to your first attraction. If you choose to, you can purchase
Disney’s Genie+ service, which will allow you to schedule a return time for some of the most popular attractions, but this is something that you schedule on the day of your visit, not in advance.
Upon thinking about your question further, I am wondering if the issue is that you are unable to book the necessary
Disney Park Pass Reservations. The holidays are truly the most wonderful time of the year, and they are even more magical at the Walt Disney World Resort. But this also means it is one of the most popular times to visit, and according to the
Theme Park Availability Calendar, many days during the holidays have limited or no reservations available. If this is your situation, you have a few options. If you have the
Park Hopper Option on your tickets, you can make a Disney Park Pass reservation for whatever park has availability, typically Epcot or Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and visit that park in the morning. After 2 PM you can hop to an alternate park, as long as there is hopping capacity available. Since this system was set up, the only day that hopping has been limited was for Guests visiting Magic Kingdom on October 1, which was the 50th Anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort. Even during Spring Break last year, hopping was never an issue for Guests.
If you would like to reschedule your trip entirely, you’ll need to
call Disney and speak with a Cast Member. You may want to review the
2021 Package Terms & Conditions before you call. Typically, packages canceled at least 30 days before arrival are eligible for rescheduling or full cancellation. With rescheduling, you may be subject to additional charges if the new vacation has a higher price point. For example, if you book a more expensive resort or a park day that has a higher ticket price. Cancellations made less than 30 days in advance can be subject to a $200 cancellation fee. Once you have rescheduled your visit, I highly recommend you make your Disney Park Pass Reservations right away. Please do not wait. If your plans change later, you can always cancel any park reservations and rebook them if there is availability.
I hope this helps, Emily. I hope you can reschedule and have a magical visit to the Walt Disney World Resort.
