I have res at AK in Dec for 7 nights (a gift from a friend using her DVC points). I will be buying AP (FL res). Can I get the dining plan? Or do I have to make additional 1 day ticket or room purchase? If so, can the purchase be made at the FL res. rate?

    Hi Regina,

Wow, what a great gift from a friend, to let you use her Disney Vacation Club vacation points for a stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas!  Both Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Kidani Village and Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo House are lovely resorts.  I love the rich decor at each, and the ability to see exotic animals outside of almost any window at these resorts is amazing!

A great perk of Disney Vacation Club is the ability to add the Quick-Service, Dining, or Deluxe Dining Plan to reservations made with Disney Vacation Club vacation points without adding the purchase of theme park tickets.  The Disney Vacation Club member needs to add the dining plan that you choose for you and pay for it at the time of adding it.  Your friend can call Disney Vacation Club member services and add the dining plan that you chose.  I did call and check with a cast member at Disney Vacation Club Member Services, who believes that your friend could use your credit card to pay for the dining plan that you choose to add as long as you are on the reservation.  You will not need to buy any theme park admission in order to do this.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Regina.  Have a great time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
