Hello Sabrina!
Welcome to planDisney!
Theme park reservations are now only required for tickets that are not date-based. Date-based tickets are those where you select a start date for when you wish to use the tickets and you have a period to use it up. You will know you have a date-based ticket as you had to pick a date when you purchased it! Tickets that do require theme park reservations include military tickets, the Florida Resident Discover Disney Ticket, and Convention tickets. If you are still not sure which type of ticket you have, then after linking them to your account
try to make a theme park reservation and see if your ticket qualifies or appears as an option.
If you have a ticket with the
Park Hopper Option and
do not need theme park reservations you can visit any Park you like when you like. Hop freely, Sabrina! However, if you have a ticket that
needs theme park reservations you will have to enter that Park with the reservation first and then you can hop to your second one. After you enter your first park you can leave at any time to visit your second one. Sabrina, if you wanted, you could enter Magic Kingdom Park, if it was your park that had a theme park reservation, and take a picture in front of Cinderella Castle. You can then leave right away and take the monorail to EPCOT to "Thank the Phoenicians" on Spaceship Earth. There is no need for a theme park reservation for any Park after your first. Of course, remember, if your tickets are date-based then you will not need to do anything but visit whatever Park you wish. Just a heads up, sometimes a Park reaches capacity and Park hopping is no longer allowed. When this happens, guests get a push notification on their
My Disney Experience App. Make sure to set up your phone to allow for notifications so that you don't miss important news.
One of the biggest announcements for this year includes the grand opening of
Tiana's Bayou Adventure on June 28, 2024! It's looking to be a fabulous re-imagining of the old Splash Mountain attraction and I am so excited to see what Disney Imagineers have in store for us. Guests can experience this attraction by joining a
Virtual Queue at 7 am or 1 pm during the opening period but it will eventually have a regular Standby line and be an option to book on Disney Genie+. What a great excuse to hop over to Magic Kingdom Park!
I hope this helps and you have a fabulous time!
Happy Planning!
