Are you required to travel with passport on an open-loop cruise that starts and ends in different US ports?

Welcome back to planDisney, Erica!  I am glad you found your way back to planDisney with your question.

Disney Cruise Line has select one-way itineraries that start in one US port and end in a different US port.  They are:
    • Galveston, Texas to San Juan, Puerto Rico
    • San Juan, Puerto Rico to Galveston, Texas
    • Fort Lauderdale, Florida to San Juan, Puerto Rico
    • San Juan, Puerto Rico to Fort Lauderdale, Florida
US Citizens (including children) are required to either have an original valid US passport (or US passport card) or their original state-issued birth certificate.  Guests over the age of 16 who are presenting their original state-issued birth certificate are also required to present a physical government state-issued ID (digital/mobile state-issued IDs are not acceptable to sail).  Citizens of other countries are required to present their original valid passport.

Erica, I hope this helps.  If you have any other questions, sail back to planDisney

    Happy Planning!
