Ahoy there, Carla!
It's a pleasure to have you sailing with us! Having the right documentation is key to smooth sailing, so I'm glad that you're already planning for your voyage.
A passport is always the safest document to travel with
but some round-trip itineraries don't require passports on Disney Cruise Line. Guests who are US citizens sailing from or to Port Canaveral, Fort Lauderdale, Galveston, San Diego, and San Juan are currently allowed to travel with:
- An original state-issued birth certificate
- A physical government-issued photo ID
Guests are required to have both of these documents to sail if they choose not to bring a passport.
Because your cruise is not until next year I would highly recommend applying for passports. I know it's a bit of a process, but
a passport really does provide you the most protection and flexibility when you travel. Time is on your side, so get that application in soon!
Will this be your first Disney Cruise?
I'm always amazed at how many fun things there are to do on each ship! I hope you'll take some time to enjoy the
live entertainment at sea, the shows in the Walt Disney Theater are just incredible. My personal favorite is
Tangled: The Musical on the Disney Magic, but you'll find great options on every single ship!
I hope this information helps you get your documents in ship shape, Carla! Wishing you smooth seas and lots of pixie dust for your travels.
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
