we just requested loop 1300 - want to be near the pool. Any opinions on that loop? Also, the kids want to bring electric scooters (the Razor kind - they go about 5 - 7 mph). Do you know if they are allowed?

    Deb:

Although I've never stayed on Loop 1300, if you're looking for proximity to the pool, it's a fine choice. (And as the crow flies it's probably the closest to the pool.)  It's been recently upgraded to Premium status and has wider concrete pads (no sand areas), cable and new covered grills.

If I had to make a request in the loop, I'd definitely ask for an outer loop site vs. and inside one (who wouldn't?) and one that sits on the canal vs. one that backs up to the road. Sites 1312, 1314, 1316, 1318, and 1321 all enjoy views of the canal that separates the loop from the lawn of the Meadows Trading Post (remember, I said it's close to the pool as the crow flies...the canal separates you from the pool, so you'll have to walk out to the path to get over to the pool). The best part is that if you land one of these choicy spots, the mosquitos won't get you in the winter! FYI: Sites 1326, 1328, 1330, 1332, and 1334 all back up to the main thoroughfare that runs down the middle of Fort Wilderness. Bus noise could be an issue for these sites.

Electric Scooters are allowed on the sidewalks and paved trails, but not wooded areas and the roads. So bring them!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
