Hi, Elizabeth!
As we enjoy a beautiful summer, it is so great you are thinking ahead to December to make sure your family's magical vacation is simply perfect!
Let me start my saying that all room requests are noted but cannot be guaranteed. That said, you are more than welcome to put in a request for your room. I always start by calling (407)W-DISNEY and have one of the amazing cast members make a note on my reservation. Then, when I do
online check-in, I select the requests that most closely reflect my preferences.
Finally, the big step. This step is one that some think work, others not so much. I send a fax to my resort about 5 days prior to my arrival. I kindly request my rooms, stating that I understand requests are not guaranteed. Be as kind as possible, as depending on your resort, they may be assigning nearly 2,000 rooms! That's a lot to juggle!
Probably the BIGGEST step in getting the room you want to is
book the correct room category. For example, if you are staying at a Value Resort and want a pool view very near the bus stop, make sure to book a Preferred Room. Many resorts book to capacity throughout the year, so do not plan on an upgrade upon arrival.
Hopefully with a bit of planning and a touch of pixie dust, you will have the perfect resort room waiting for you when you arrive at
Walt Disney World!
