Ahoy there, Karen! Welcome aboard planDisney!
Ah, tables for two. I remember before our son was born, my wife and I spent most of our cruises dining just the two of us. On our first cruise together, we had the luxury of dining alone, and on several others, we'd been matched-up with people in similar situations! There are benefits to both outcomes, of course, as we've remained friends with some of our tablemates, but there is something extra magical about having your meals with just your traveling companion and your dining crew members.
The best way to make this request would be to dial freephone at 0800 169 0742 or to send an email to
disneytraveluk@disneyonline.com. Now it's important to note that requests like these fall into the category of, "you can make the request, but there are no guarantees," but I do have a planDrew-approved suggestion of how to increase your chances of showing up to your first dinner on your cruise and being pleasantly surprised to be shown to a table set for two!
Two words: Second. Seating.
If you're able, opting for the second seating opens up a lot of leeway for you and any special requests - especially for things like sitting by yourselves! Generally speaking, the second seating is what I like to call the "Three Qs:"
- Quieter - later dinner times (Starting after 8 p.m.) makes for fewer parties opting for such a late start
- Quicker - if you would like it to be - fewer Guests means
- Quite Enjoyable
Ok, so that last one is a bit of a stretch as far as starting with a letter "Q," but as someone who has chosen the second seating intentionally on more than 90-percent of my cruises, we're just waiting for the moment my son is old enough to have his bedtime accommodate our preference, haha! We love the order of the night as well, where we can freshen-up from our day at sea or in port and head to the Walt Disney Theatre for the nightly show first, then ease into the evening with a little trivia or live music before making our way to our late dinner!
Oh, and with
how much incredible food is at your fingertips throughout your entire Disney Cruise Line vacation, there's definitely no reason you should ever be hungry!
I hope that you and your companion are able to enjoy your meals at a table for two on your upcoming cruise, Karen! Thank you so much for sailing my way with your question. If you have any others as you continue planning, please drop me another message in a bottle here at planDisney!
Until then, may your anchor be tight and your compass true!
