Hi Edmund,
Welcome to planDisney!
With your arrival date in January, you are planning well in advance! Although some room requests can be made through the
Online Check-In process, to make a request for a specific room number, I suggest that you
call to speak with a cast member in Disney Resort Hotel Reservations. Of course, requests are not guaranteed, but cast members certainly try their best to make magic!
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is one of our favorite resort hotels in the
Disney Resorts Collection. We love the rooms and the layout of this resort hotel. The dining and other amenities are fantastic, including one of our favorite dining options,
1900 Park Fare. We absolutely loved dining here on our most recent visit and being in the midst of so many expert wish makers!
We also really value the walking pathway to Magic Kingdom, especially on those nights we leave after the
Happily Ever After fireworks. It's such a treat to bypass all of the lines for transportation and take the walk along the pathway. We enjoy using that time to laugh about what happened during the day and to simply enjoy the scenery as we walk.
Edmund, I do hope you have a
vacation package booked with theme park tickets. If you have not yet added a
Disney Dining Plan, consider adding one. My family prefers the Disney Dining Plan and actually considers it a good value. Just plan out your meals so that you can make the best decision. Last tip - keep an eye on the date for the
EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. Your visit might coincide during the festival. Keep up the
practically perfect planning!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
