How can I request a resort room close to the elevators or lobby? My elderly grandmother is staying at the Boardwalk Villas with us and long flights of stairs are not easy for her. Does Disney take elderly guests into account when assigning rooms?

    Hi Ashley,

It sounds like you have a wonderful family vacation coming up at Disney’s BoardWalk Villas. Disney's BoardWalk Villas are such a great place to stay due to its close proximity to both Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as well as a plethora of nearby dining and entertainment options.

Ashley, if your reservation was booked using Disney Vacation Club points, the Disney Vacation Club member who made the reservation can call Member Services at (800) 800-9800 to have your request for a room in close proximity to the main lobby and elevator noted on your reservation. If your reservation was booked directly with Disney Resort Hotel Reservations, you can contact them at (407) 939-1936 to add room location requests to your reservation.

Alternatively, you may wish to fax your room request directly to the Resort at (407) 938-4799 approximately five days before check-in. Be sure to include your full name, check in date and Resort confirmation number on your room request.

While room requests cannot be guaranteed, in my experience, Disney Cast Members handling room assignments at each Resort do their very best to accommodate your requests, particularly when it relates to a medical or accessibility issue, subject to availability restrictions. Depending upon your grandmother's needs, you may also wish to request a handicap accessible room, with options for roll-in showers, accessible counter-tops, increased door widths and other similar features.

Wishing you a wonderful upcoming family vacation!
