Avast there, Brianna! Ye come seekin’ adventure and
salty old planDisney panelists, eh? Sure, you come to the proper place.
I love that you’re planning a grand adventure to the
Happiest Place on Earth for your son! I'm also a big fan of
Pirates of the Caribbean. I recently got to ride with
17 of my best mateys, and some had never sailed the Disneyland seas before. They were surprised by the sudden sinking feeling after listening to the talking skeleton at the beginning of the ride. It was a swashbuckling good time.
I know that sometimes it can be challenging to get the most desirable dining reservations, especially since there be plunderin’ pirates lurkin’ in every cove, but let’s find a solution together.
The
dining reservation window is 60 days before your visit, so get your calendar out, count backwards, and set an alarm. The reservations typically go live at 6:00 a.m. PST. These reservations get snatched up very quickly, so I’d be on the website and ready to go, right as the clock strikes 6:00. Some have reported that occasionally, the reservation window opens earlier than 6:00 a.m., but I cannot verify. The first reservations of the day are automatically placed at specific tables, and getting your table moved is difficult. This is why it’s best to avoid the earliest reservations if you have your heart set on being by the water. If you have a later reservation and make the request, the cast members can seat you at a table that becomes available near the water.
Yo ho, yo ho, a table near the water for me.
To request a table by the water in
Blue Bayou, you’ll need to be patient and wait until the day of your visit. I would suggest visiting the restaurant well before your reservation to politely ask the cast member at the door if you could request to sit near the water. You cannot request by phone. It must be in person on the day of your visit.
Hopefully, you can find the treasure and secure a reservation. If you don’t get one on the first try, keep a weather eye open, matey. You can continue to check back, as there are sometimes cancellations.
I hope you have a magical visit and get to dine at Blue Bayou! The theming can’t be beat, and the food is delicious. Drink up me hearties, yo ho! Don’t hesitate to bring all your planning questions to yer best mateys at
planDisney.
Ahoy,
Corey
