can I request a particular cabin area in the wilderness lodge to reserve if I think it would be more convenient for getting in and out or faster to the restaurant or ranch or transportation to the theme parks.

Hi Ruth!  You can certainly request a specific cabin loop when making your Fort Wilderness reservation.  As with the resorts they will do the best they can to fulfill the requests.

I have stayed at several different loops and can honestly say I don't think it really matters.  There are numerous bus stop locations and although one loop might be just slightly closer to the Pioneer Hall and marina area it is still a long walk and a bus is the best way to reach that location.  If you do not plan on having a car or renting a golf cart I would request a cabin close to the bus stops.  The loops can be large and to me it is more of an inconvenience to be in the cabin the furthest from the buses then to be in a loop close to a specific area of the "Fort".

We love the peacefulness and quiet of Fort Wilderness.  It is a hidden gem of Walt Disney World!
