Can I request a microwave for my room at All Star Music? My husband is an insomniac and eats at least one meal around 2-3am. It would be helpful if he were able to warm it up. Warm meals make for sleepy tummies.

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Carlotta. I'm so glad you've stopped by to ask your question here. I can see that your trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth is right around the corner. I bet you are getting so excited!

Carlotta, unfortunately, microwaves or appliances of the sort are not allowed in the rooms at Disney's All-Star Music Resort. This is a standard rule for safety reasons. There are microwaves at the Intermission Food Court that you are more than welcome to use to warm up food throughout the day. The Intermission Food Court is open from 7:00 a.m. until about 11:00 p.m. daily. If you were to pack a small soft-sided cooler in your luggage, you could probably warm something up right before the food court closes for the evening and it be kept pretty warm in your cooler bag until he is ready to enjoy it. Another idea would be to pack a small thermos that you can warm up in the food court area before it closes and then have food items that can be kept warm inside of it.  Soups, pasta and things of that nature come to mind when I think of a thermos but I am sure you have plenty of expertise in this area.

I understand that this can be a little bit frustrating because it has more to do with your husband's medical issue. If I were you, I'd stop by the front desk the day of your check-in and explain your situation. The Cast Member helping you might be able to come up with a better solution that is safe but helpful to you. I find that most of the time resorts are really accommodating and will try their best to help you. It certainly won't hurt to ask when you are there.

I hope this helps give you some ideas on how to keep your husband fed during the night, Carlotta. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help. I hope you all have a really magical and memorable vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
