Can I request a DVD player for my resort room?

    Hi Peggy,

Welcome back to planDisney! My kids are getting older, but they’re still around the age when they insist that we watch Cars at least once a week. Even during Disney vacations, they’re checking to see what movie is playing on the Resort TV before bedtime.

I spoke with a Cast Member who explained that DVD players may be available at your Resort. Availability is not guaranteed, but you can request a DVD player at the Front Desk when you check in. The Cast Member did mention that you should bring your own DVDs to use, as DVC Resorts are the only Resorts that offer DVD rentals.

The Cast Member also shared that if you are a Disney+ subscriber you can log in to your Disney+ account on your Resort television. I like this option because you wouldn’t need to pack any DVDs, and Disney+ has a huge selection of shows and movies to choose from.

Don’t forget that many Resorts show Movies Under the Stars several nights each week. You can ask for a schedule of activities at the Front Desk to see which movie will be shown during your vacation. My family likes to find the nearby campfire to roast some marshmallows, then find a comfy spot to sit and watch the movie.

I hope this gives you some options, Peggy. I thought of one more great idea: buy a box of popcorn (or refill your reusable popcorn bucket), and bring it back to the Resort for a movie snack! If you have any more questions, please come back to see us again at planDisney!
