Hi Eri!
Welcome! It's my pleasure to roll out the red carpet for you as it’s your first visit to planDisney. We're all EARS when it comes to helping you plan a Disney Cruise Line vacation.
If you haven’t yet made your cruise reservation, then you can request the
Main or Second Seating for your dining rotation at the time of booking. If you already have your cruise reservation, then using your reservation number, you may log onto the
Disney Cruise Line website under My Reservations. There, Guests can see what seating time they have for
rotational dining. I did notice after trying this myself that I could see our Second Seating assignment for my upcoming cruise, but it does not give me the ability to change it. So if that is the case for you, then in order to change the seating you currently have, you will have to call Disney Cruise Line at (800) 951-3532 to make your request. In most cases, it turns out that Guests can be moved from their assigned seating to the seating they prefer. Disney Cruise Line will do their best to accommodate changes.
If it can’t be changed right now, don’t give up! The Cast Members can also put you on a waitlist for your preferred seating time. So make sure that they note your request on your reservation, and if you do not receive any updates prior to setting sail, you can always inquire once onboard about changing your dining time.
When my kids were much younger, I preferred the Main Seating so they would be able to eat first before we went to the
Walt Disney Theatre for the musical entertainment. For that reason, it does tend to be a very popular option. But the advantage of the Second Seating is that we take in the Broadway-caliber show first and then get to take our time over dinner. I tend to be more attentive to the show before dinner than after I’ve eaten one of those delicious, very filling meals!
Either way, I hope it works out exactly as you desire! Wishing you the most wonderful time onboard and a magical adventure at sea with Captain Mickey!
