How do I request a character call to tell them they are going to Walt Disney world? I have seen it's possible for cruise line trips but can't find anything for if you are staying at the parks.

Hiya, pal! Thanks for stopping back by planDisney. I'm glad you're here!

Lydia, I am sorry to say that Captain Mickey has not brought this character call service ashore, and character calls are only available for Guests heading on a Disney Cruise Line (DCL) vacation. I'm sorry if this isn't the news you hoped to hear, but let's see if we can make some magic happen in another way.

When you're staying at a hotel on property at Walt Disney World Resort, you can link your vacation in the My Disney Experience Mobile App. The app now offers a countdown to your visit (similar to the one for DCL), so you could surprise your kids by showing them this sweet countdown.

Another option would be to surprise them with some new Disney swag and a note announcing the trip. With some creativity and some mousketools, you might be able to even have Mickey or one of his pals sign it!

Lastly, and possibly my favorite, is to surprise your kids on the day of the vacation by driving or flying straight to Walt Disney World Resort when they anticipate going somewhere completely different (like school). I've heard of several Guests doing this with great success!

When you get to your Disney Resorts Collection Hotel, be sure to check out the "Hey Disney" voice assistant, available in all rooms. This awesome new room feature is your alarm clock, bedtime storyteller, park hours guide, and more! Get a preview of it on the planDisney Instagram!

I hope this information gives you some inspiration for announcing your trip, Lydia. Please visit again if you have any other questions. We'd be happy to help!

    See ya real soon!
