We are on the re-positioning cruise, leaving NYC to San Juan. My TA said the kids needed a passport or passport card for the cruise. Do the kids need a passport to fly home to Ohio or will the card suffice since it is a US territory?

    Hello Samantha,

Thanks for sailing by!  How exciting that your Disney Cruise Line voyage is in sight!  I am from New York City, and the thought of sailing away looking at Lady Liberty gives me goose bumps!  You are certain to have an amazing trip!

At check-in, all passengers, including children will be asked to present valid passports or other acceptable proof of citizenship.  Travelers must have valid passports to enter (or re-enter) the United States by air, so in the unlikely event of an emergency, if you had to disembark the ship outside the United States and fly back home, you would need passports.  For this reason, I always ensure that everyone sailing with us has a valid U.S. Passport, and tend to agree with your Travel Agent.  You will find specific travel guidelines and regulations relevant to your sailing under My Reservations, but Disney Cruise Line considers it your responsibility to ensure that you have the appropriate documentation and proof of citizenship.  You can call the United States Passport Information Center at (877)487-2778 for additional information.

    Bon voyage!
