what has replaced fast passes at Disney

Hey there, James, and welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by the panel with your question! You’re clearly a Disney vet if you’re throwing around FastPass+ lingo! And with the 50th Anniversary Celebration in full swing, now is a fantastic time to head back to The Walt Disney World Resort!

James, Walt Disney World has replaced the FastPass+ system with Disney’s Genie+ Service. Disney’s new Genie+ Service is a daily Theme Park Ticket add-on service that gives Guests the opportunity to reserve a return window and experience their desired attraction. Similar to the FastPass+ offering, once an attraction is reserved through the Genie+ Service Guests can experience the attraction through the Lightning Lane queue. The Lightning Lane queue usually means that you get to experience the attraction with a shorter attraction wait time! And if you’re anything like me, the goals of my Disney Vacations are to have fun and wait in as few lines as possible! Genie+ helps me to accomplish both of those vacation goals in one! The Disney Genie+ Service can be purchased on the morning of your Theme Park visit through the My Disney Experience mobile app. After purchase, all Guests can reserve their first attraction entrance at 7 a.m. EST. The My Disney Experience mobile app will then notify you when you can make your next attraction reservation.

One thing to note is that not all attractions are eligible for Disney’s Genie+ Service. At least one attraction in each Theme Park is excluded from the Genie+ option and only available through an Individual Lightning Lane purchase. Individual Lightning Lanes allow Guests the opportunity to reserve an attraction return window for the most sought-after attraction in each park. Unlike the Genie+ Service, Guests are only allowed two Individual Lightning Lane reservations per Theme Park day. You can purchase both Individual Lightning Lane reservations at 7 a.m. EST on the morning of your Theme Park day.

I hope this helps, James! If you have more questions while planning your Disney Vacation, stop back by and let me know
