I am renting a 12-passenger van to visit all 4 theme parks. Are passenger drop-offs and pick-ups allowed at the front gate of each park and then I will find self-parking afterwards? I'm trying to save time and walking for my group except for myself.

    Welcome back to planDisney, Wilson!

Just like Mr. Ray from Finding Nemo, it sounds like you'll bring a lot of joy to your passengers when you take them to the Drop-Off! And just like Marlin and Dory, I had to do a bit of finding to get the answer that we were looking for. Let's dive right in!

After speaking to a friendly Cast Member online, you can indeed drop off your passengers via a drop-off area near where the rideshare vehicles drop off Guests. These areas are not quite at the front gates of each park because security precedes those, but it will still give your crew a headstart. Also, in order to park your van after you've dropped off your group members, you first need to pay at the initial parking booth.

Then, after dropping everyone off, speak to a nearby parking attendant to see what your next steps are in order to park. Depending on traffic flow and the Cast Member's discretion, you'll either be able to park right away or you may be directed to fully exit and re-enter the parking lot. In the second case, Hakuna Matata (no worries)! Just show your receipt to the Cast Member at the parking booth, and you will not be asked to pay again.

Now, if someone in your group has a valid disability parking permit, your party may already be close enough to the front that you'll be able to pay, park in that designated area, and make your way to the theme park together.

AN EXTRA GEM: You'll want to keep a couple of things in mind. First, Magic Kingdom Park and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park have trams that will cut down walking time for you and your party. It will pick you up near your van and then zip you all over to the park's security area. Also, when visiting Magic Kingdom Park, the drop-off area (either when you take the tram or if you drop off your party yourself) is at the Transportation and Ticket Center. So, you all will need to take an additional mode of transportation (like the Disney Monorail or ferryboat) to get to the Most Magical Place on Earth.

Wilson, please revisit planDisney if you have any other questions about your upcoming summer vacation. Any of us would be more than happy to help!

    Magic always,
