I am renting a golf cart at Fort Wilderness, are these cats street legal, and are we allowed to take them off the resort to visit Wilderness Lodge?

Hey there, Anai. Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with your question.

Anai, Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is such a fun place to stay. In fact, my family and I stay there each year the week of Christmas. We love it! We also typically rent a golf cart while staying there because the campground is quite spread out. It's very convenient to use a golf cart to get to places like The Settlement which is where the restaurants are located and over to the Swimmin' Hole for some fun in the Florida Sun.

The golf carts that are rented from Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground are not street legal and cannot be used anywhere but the campground area. You won't be able to take them over to other resorts like Disney's Wilderness Lodge.

To get over to Disney's Wilderness Lodge from The Fort (as it is so lovingly nicknamed) what you'll want to do is take a boat from The Settlement area over to Magic Kingdom Park. From there, you'll want to switch boats to the one headed over to Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Another easy way to get over to Disney's Wilderness Lodge is to use a rideshare service. They can pick you up at The Outpost and take you directly to the resort and drop you off right outside of the lobby. I like to use rideshare services to get from resort to resort. It's convenient and pretty affordable since everything is pretty close in distance.

I hope this helps, Anai. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help.

    Happy planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
