Am renting an ECV off property, am I allowed to attach a walker to it at the parks?

    Hey there Marlene,

Welcome back to planDisney and thank you for your question! I'm happy to hear you've got a trip to the Disneyland Resort coming up in just a few short months - it'll be here before you know it!

Your question is a bit of a tricky one because there are a few variables to your set up, but I'm going to do my best to compile all the information you need to know to determine if your rental ECV and walker set up looks like it complies with the Disneyland Resort's park rules.

First, as I would venture that you're aware of, the Disneyland Resort is deeply committed to providing access to magical experiences for all Guests. The Accessibility hub on the Disneyland Resort has been a really great resource for me and my family when we've visited the parks with family members using mobility devices.

Second, as it relates to your question, it will depend on how your set up looks with your rented ECV and walker. A few notable items from the Park Rules and Regulation page are that mobility devices "should be single rider and not exceed 36" (92 cm) in width and 52" (132 cm) in length." Additionally, it's also prohibited to bring "any trailer-like object that is pushed, pulled or towed by an Electric Conveyance Vehicle, wheelchair, stroller or person."

Therefore, if your walker folds up and can be securely fastened to the back of your ECV rental so that it does not exceed the length limit (and is not being towed in any way behind the ECV) then according to the rules and regulations, you should be all set.

However, we planDisney panelists are Guests like you - not Disney Cast Members - and ultimately it is up to the discretion of the security screening Cast Members on what is allowed into the parks according to the rules and regulations for the Disneyland Resort. So if you want to check some specific details of your planned set up then I would recommend calling a Cast Member at the Guest Information line to discuss your situation and get their input as well.

Thanks again for your question, Marlene! I hope you have a wonderful time on your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth.
