If renting a cabana and it storms that day do we lose our money? It would be at one of the waterparks

    Hi Erica!

A cabana rental at one of the Walt Disney World water parks is a treat!  It's great to have your own private space to relax during down time from swimming.

I have been to the Walt Disney World water parks quite a few times during storms and can tell you from experience that they rarely close the parks.  Typical Florida storms pass through pretty quickly, so even if it does storm during your visit and the attractions may close if there is lightening nearby, it's usually for a short amount of time.  Once the threat of lightening clears, the attractions open back up.  The water parks close completely if there is severe inclement weather, such as an impending hurricane or if the temperature drops below a certain point.  I spoke with a Cast Member and was informed that if the park is still open and you wish to cancel same day, you will still be charged the full amount for the cabana.  The current cancellation policy is one day prior, so if you see that the weather will be undesirable on the day you're planning on visiting and you don't want to take the chance, you can cancel the day before without penalty.

Please stop back by and visit if you need any help planning your visit to Disney's Typhoon Lagoon or Disney's Blizzard Beach!

    Have a magical day!
