I have rented a cabana that guests up to 10. But I have 3 extra guest that are children ages 10, 6 and 3 years of age. Can I add them to the cabana for an extra price? I feel as if the kids will spend more time at the beach. Please advise.

    Ahoy there, Norma!

Welcome aboard planDisney! It sounds like you have quite the crew heading out on your Disney cruise adventure, and with 13 Guests ready for some fun in the sun, your beach day is shaping up to have a cast as big as the Madrigal family! Adding a cabana to the mix is a fantastic way to give everyone a home base between dips in the water and adventures around the island.

The not-so-enchanting news is that a cabana with a maximum capacity of 10 Guests cannot exceed that number, even when the additional Guests are children. Depending on the cabana you booked, the first six Guests may be included in the price, with the option to add up to four additional Guests for a fee. For example, the Mickey & Minnie Cove Cabanas at Castaway Cay currently cost $1,050 for the first six Guests, and you can add up to four more Guests for $56 each. Once you reach 10, though, that cabana has officially hit its Guest-list limit.

I know that’s probably not the treasure you were hoping to uncover, but I wouldn’t let your cabana dreams sail off beyond the reef just yet! Since your cruise is only a few days away, I’d give your Disney Cruise Line Navigator app one last check to see if one of the larger Grand Cabanas happens to become available. Those can accommodate up to 16 Guests, which would give your entire crew room to settle in without having to decide which three family members get voted off the island.

If you aren’t able to snag one before embarkation day, I’d make the Port Adventures Desk one of your first stops once onboard. Let the Cast Members know that you already have a cabana but need the larger option for your party of 13, and ask if they can add you to a waitlist. Sometimes a smaller group may have reserved a Grand Cabana simply because it was the only option available when they booked. If the opportunity comes up to swap, you could end up with exactly the space your crew needs. It may take a little Fairy Godmother-level luck this close to sailing, but it’s absolutely worth asking!

I hope this helps you explore a few options for keeping your entire crew together during your beach day, Norma. With 13 people ready to hit the sand, I’m hoping a Grand Cabana opens up and gives your family plenty of room to make a big splash!

Sea ya real soon with boo-tiful nights and frightfully fun days,
    Dustin
