If we have a rental car, can we travel between Caribbean Beach and Polynesian resorts with the rental car? We have reservations for Caribbean Beach for the hotel stay but need to go to Polynesian resort for a 20 minute cheer practice.

    Hi Joseph,

Welcome to planDisney! You must be excited that your Walt Disney World vacation is just around the corner.

You are welcome to use your rental car to travel between all locations at the resorts and the theme parks. For security purposes and because parking can be limited at some resorts, you will be asked to show identification and to let the cast member at the entrance know why you are visiting that resort, whether you are driving your personal vehicle or a rental.

One note that may affect your plans: Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is undergoing refurbishment throughout 2026, including reconfiguration of the entrance. The construction affects parking and the bus pickup and drop-off areas. I was there about a month ago, and it was manageable but less efficient than normal. So please allow extra time to navigate the disruption.

It might be easier for you to use the Magic Kingdom parking lot instead. As a Disney resort guest, you get free parking at the theme parks. And you never have to worry about the vast Magic Kingdom lot being full. The walkways and trams in the Magic Kingdom parking lot lead to the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC),  which is adjacent to the Polynesian. It's only about a five-minute walk from the TTC to the central area of the Polynesian Village.

planDisney tip: Use the Car Locator feature in the My Disney Experience Mobile App to make returning to your car a breeze. Whenever I drive a rental car, I also snap a picture of it so that I remember what it looks like.

It's about a 15-minute drive from the Caribbean Beach Resort to Magic Kingdom or the Polynesian. I'd allow at least an hour for transportation so you don't feel rushed or risk missing your short practice. If you're early, you can always stroll around the beautiful grounds of the resort or grab a Dole Whip at the Pineapple Lanai.

I hope that's helpful, Joseph. Please let us know if we can answer any other questions for you as your vacation draws even closer.

    Enjoy,

    Wilma
