I want to rent a wheelchair at TTC on Monday, Dec. 8. I see that Mickey’s Gift Station is closed, which is where I think they used to be rented from. Where can I rent a wheelchair at TTC? And is this where I leave courtesy wheelchair?

Hey there! Hi there, Karen! Welcome back to planDisney!

Karen, I checked the information on wheelchair rentals. It looks like the only rental place for the Magic Kingdom is at the theme park. So I asked a Cast Member about the Transportation and Ticket Center, and they confirmed you can only get them at the Magic Kingdom. They also shared that, officially, there are no courtesy wheelchairs available for use between the TTC and the wheelchair rental location. However, they encouraged speaking with a Cast Member at the site for any assistance they may be able to provide.

Once you are at the gates to the Magic Kingdom, you can rent a wheelchair or ECV for the day or opt for a length-of-stay rental.

You may also want to consider renting a wheelchair from a third-party provider if you have an extended visit to Walt Disney World Resort. This would ensure you could easily travel between theme parks and back to your hotel. ScooterBug is the preferred rental company and can leave the wheelchair or ECV at your Disney Resorts Collection hotel before your arrival.

I would normally encourage you to reach out to disability.services@disneyparks.com. The awesome Cast Members with Disability Services can provide a lot of information to help you navigate your trip to Walt Disney World Resort. But your trip is just a day away. They may be able to help quickly, but you may also want to check out some available resources. The "Services for Guests with Mobility Needs" section of the website is packed with helpful information, including parking and how to access attractions. I am also a huge fan of the Guest Experiences Team. You can find them under the big, blue umbrellas inside the theme parks for help on the day of your trip. And, like the person I spoke with to help with your question said, always ask a nearby Cast Member if you need anything. They are the magic!

Karen, I hope your trip is practically perfect in every way! If we can assist with any other questions, please come back to planDisney. You've got a friend in us!
