Hiya, Michael, and welcome to planDisney! Thank you for making us your trusted resource for Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning advice! My Panelist pals and I are here and always happy to help our fellow Guests, just like you!
Michael, you currently do not need medical documentation to simply
rent or use an ECV at Walt Disney World Resort. There are a few options when it comes to renting a scooter, so all you need to do is decide what's best for you and your wife. You might consider renting a scooter from a preferred provider like ScooterBug, which can deliver an ECV to your
Disney Resorts Collection hotel so that you can use it throughout your stay. If you only want to use a scooter during your time at the Disney Theme Parks, you might want to
rent one within the parks. These are first-come, first-served, so you'll want to arrive early. If you happen to park hop, you'll just turn in your ECV as you leave and pick up a new one at your next destination. The thing to remember is that when you rent a scooter in a park, it can not leave the park, so your wife will need to think about how she wants to get from your preferred transportation to the rental area.
If there's anything I learned from being pregnant during a Walt Disney World Resort vacation, it was to stay hydrated and stay cool. Finding shady areas to enjoy a cold beverage or DOLE Whip was key to an enjoyable day. Happily, there are plenty of indoor attractions to experience that offer air conditioning. I also recommend booking at least one
Advance Dining Reservation at a table service restaurant per day, to ensure you have a dedicated time and place to relax and enjoy some delicious food.
Michael, I hope this is helpful to you as you continue to plan your vacation. Please stop by planDisney with any other questions you have!
Congratulations on your new Mouseketeer!
