Hey there Chris!
I’m so glad to welcome you to planDisney and I'm excited to help you navigate the parks and show you how to rent a scooter to make sure that your experience at The Happiest Place On Earth is as magical as can be!
Renting a wheelchair or ECV scooter can be a great option for those who need it. You can rent a wheelchair or
ECV (Electric Convenience Vehicle) scooter right outside the theme parks. The rental location is located just east of the
Disneyland Park Main Entrance. They cannot be reserved in advance, so it's best to get there early. Chris, I would even recommend arriving about 30 minutes before the parks open at 8:00 AM. This is especially important if it's a busy day because there might be a long line.
Once you've rented a scooter or wheelchair, you're free to explore both
Disney California Adventure Park and Disneyland Park, as well as the
Downtown Disney District. These vehicles are a convenient way to get around the parks, and they can make your experience so much more comfortable and enjoyable. However, keep in mind that you can't take them off of Disney property, so be sure to plan accordingly so that you can return the scooter or wheelchair before you leave the parks.
Chris, have you heard about the
Disability Access Service (DAS)? The DAS is intended for people who have difficulty waiting in a regular queue. This free service is helpful because it allows guests to schedule return times for attractions instead of waiting in line. DAS can be pre-registered 2 to 30 days before your trip, so I always recommend
requesting a live video chat with a Cast Member to begin the process a couple of weeks before your adventure begins. It is important to make sure that you have a device with a working camera and microphone since a photo will be taken during that live chat, which should only last about 10 minutes. The Cast Member will also ask you a few questions and sprinkle any further pixie dust on any assistance that your cast of characters may need for your magical adventure.
Chris, I hope I helped to show you ways that you can make your visit to the Disneyland Resort much more comfortable and enjoyable so that you can focus on having fun and making memories. If you think of anything else, I’d love to help you again. You can
submit another question to me directly here.
You’ve got a friend in me,
