How do I rent the formal attire for a cruise out of port canaveral?

    Hi there, Shawn!

As a child, I used to watch a cruise-themed prime-time television show on the ABC network. I remember thinking how classy it would feel to dress up and enjoy a fancy dinner in the main dining room of a luxurious cruise ship. I love how the look and feel of a Disney cruise still provides that classic nostalgia with a modern take and Disney's unique entertainment and quality service.

As you get ready to pack for your Disney Cruise Line vacation, you may have come across the recommended dress guidelines for your cruise. Longer cruise itineraries, such as those aboard the Disney Treasure, generally include one night when formal attire is suggested for Guests in the main dining room and another night when semi-formal attire is suggested. On nearly all Disney cruises I've been on, I have observed that most Guests tend to dress casually, even on formal and semi-formal nights. Of course, it's important for everyone to enjoy their vacation in their own way. Those who lean into the suggestion to dress formally often appear to be making the most of their experience on the high seas. Note that some of the adult-exclusive dining venues enforce heightened dress codes.

At this time, the Disney Cruise Line does not offer clothing rental. Any such attire may be packed with your luggage. The good news is that typical staterooms on the Disney Cruise Line are among the largest in the industry. You are permitted to take as much luggage as you need, so it's a good thing that there is plenty of space for it all, including space in drawers, closets, and under the bed. Whether you choose to rent formalwear before boarding your cruise, bring along something from home, or simply enjoy a casual experience, you'll have room for it all. For semi-formal night, I usually pack some basic slacks, a buttoned shirt, and a tie. For the formal night, I take my Haunted Mansion blazer. It's not a tux, but it is a fun way to match the themes onboard.

In other words, Shawn, your Disney cruise vacation is what you make of it. Whether you choose chill and casual or elegance and dressing to the nines, I'm sure you will enjoy an amazing experience on the Disney Cruise Line. As you continue to get ready, please feel free to visit us again here at planDisney. As regular Guests ourselves, we've been there before. It's our pleasure to share with you things that we have learned to help make your vacation as magical as possible.

    Have an awesome time, Shawn!
