Can I rent an ECV for 16year old daughter to use? She is having knee surgery and may not be able to walk all day in the parks.

    Hello, Joyce!

I'm so sorry to hear that your daughter will be having knee surgery! Hopefully, the extra bit of pixie dust that surrounds her in Walt Disney World will help the healing process proceed a little more quickly!

I called WDW to inquire about your situation and a Cast Member directed me to contact Buena Vista Scooters, the company with which you'd be doing business should you rent an Electric Convenience Vehicle within one of the Walt Disney World parks (The number is 800-741-2282.)

Greta, with Buena Vista Scooters, informed me that on very rare occasions, the company will make an exception to its "18 years and older" policy; your daughter's situation is one of those rare occasions!  Greta stated that, in addition to the usual paperwork you, the renter, would need to fill out, you'll also be asked to write a one paragraph letter explaining the medical need (post-surgery), the responsible age of your daughter and that you take financial responsibility should there be any problem.  Greta said that if she says it's okay, no one would say no to you. :-)

Have a magical trip! I wish your daughter a very speedy recovery, too!

Be sure to send me any additional questions you may have as you think of them! I'd love to help!
