Hi there, Aurora!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Your
MARVELous adventure is just around the corner and I am sure you are busy getting every last detail organized, packed and ready to go! I am so excited for your family and the adventure that awaits you on your Disney Cruise Line vacation! Just a few more sleeps and then you will be celebrating with Captain Mickey as you head out to sea for fun and adventure!
My family has often cruised in and out of Miami with Disney Cruise Line and we have often done just what you are asking – rented a car! We have found this to be a great option because we will often fly in and out of Fort Lauderdale and since Disney Cruise Line does not offer transfers from Fort Lauderdale, renting a car has been a great option for us. We have been able to rent a one-way rental from a variety of the local rental companies, so I would recommend checking with each of them to see if they offer a one-way rental (if that is what you need) and if they offer a shuttle from the
Port of Miami. Additionally, if you have little ones that need a car seat, you will want to ensure that they have those available for rent as well. Another option if you are simply looking for transportation to a destination is to consider a private car transportation service. Often these companies will offer a flat rate to get you from the Port of Miami to a destination and even offer car seats for use during your transfer. There are a number of local companies that do this, but I do recommend looking into one and inquiring about a flat rate instead of a per mile rate.
Wishing you a MAGICal adventure at sea with many memories made!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
